Week 8 May 22 - May 29

Well, I have completed the IRB training and quizzes, but I am still working on my IRB application. I have about half of it done now, but I need to still work on the description and the risk factors, plus the survey that I am going to use. I was having trouble to decide whether to go with "exempt" or "full board" approval, but I am thinking there is always a chance that a community college student might be under the age of 17 or that a student with a disability might access the website from our Math Lab, so I am thinking I will need to go with the full board approval. Is this true?

I haven't started working on my storyboard yet, but I plan to begin working on that this week. My main concern right now is getting my IRB application completed and ready to submit next month.

James,
I do think the under age issue may be of concern for you. I guess that should be clear cut to me having just finished training, but I think it may require full review. Sounds like you are steadily moving forward. I did speak to Dr. Baek this evening and she stated the application is the main assignment and surveys need to be submitted only if we wanted her feedback. Don't know if that helps you, but just an FYI. Keep up the good work.
