During the past week, I have read Chapters 1 and 2 of the assigned reading. I found the reading interesting in describing the differences between a dissertation and a thesis. I found the reading easy to follow and the authors give good explanations of how to write a successful and winning thesis.
I also have a better understanding of what is expected for the literature review and what I need to get done for my chapter two work. I am not planning on graduating within the next year, so I still have some time, but I don't want to wait for too long.
I am still working on deciding on a topic for my thesis. I will continue to research my choices of topics and have something for next week.

James, I think that this time around we will be able to narrow our projects down and I argree with you that CHapter 2 will help us to set up our project.

Hope that the discussion we had yesterday helped you to narrow down your topic. Developing a remedial math on fraction seems to fit your interest and to be relevant to your job responsibility. Starting collecting relevant resources and reviewing other math tools/products similar to yours would be a good first step.

I think that after last quarter we have a bit more information to help narrow down our topic. It seems like such a difficult task just trying to decide on a topic. With so many ideas out there, its hard to focus on just one major idea.
